Chair
Solicitor by profession, with the heart for serving those at a disadvantage. Pip is actively supporting individuals experiencing inequality, through her role as the Chair for the Citizens Advice Bureau. Recognised for her candid attitude and witty sense of humour, Pip is no stranger to transformational leadership and ensuring everyone’s needs are met.
Nighat Bhola, BEM
Trustee
Recognised for talent scouting and supporting the performance of employees and volunteers, Nighat is a multi-award-winning social entrepreneur. Possessing a selfless, pro-active demeanour, displayed through her role as a director for Humdum UK CIC. Humdum is a local foodbank, for the residents of Barking & Dagenham. Actively ensuring no family is left behind or forgotten.
Sarah Robertson
Trustee
With over 25 years’ experience as a youth worker, Sarah is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur, who advocates for marginalised (grass root) organisations. Appointment; Managing Director of Youth Services, Sarah delivers accredited training, develops and delivers positive activities e.g. boxing. Recognised for her assertive charisma, Sarah uses her skills and abilities to bring the best out of everyone who crosses her path, while running a small groups hub and consortium lead in John Smith House, Barking.
Syed Ghani
Trustee
Councillor Syed Ghani oversees trading standards, parking, antisocial behaviour, environmental crimes, noise nuisances, and community safety and enforcement. Additionally, he spearheads the Council’s flagship Private Landlord Licensing Scheme. Leading the Council’s initiatives on crime and safety challenges, Councillor Ghani plays a pivotal role in ensuring a secure and regulated community environment.
Chris Downham
Operations & Business Development Manager
A senior member of the team with over 22 years of experience in the financial sector and Operations and business development of the CVS. Responsible for all the Ripple centre and building operations plus any accounting queries.
Mala Alina
Manager Reception & Bookings and Community engagement
With over 10 years’ experience in the Voluntary sector. Mala is your go to point of contact for community groups queries.
Mala is passionate about efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery and has built and maintained relationships with members of the community & local VCSE’s which helped enhance her work supporting the local them when she became the Community Engagement Manager
Prakash Magendran
Reception and Administrator
Your first point of contact for any queries related to the Ripple Centre reception and venue hire enquiries. With a background in IT helpdesk, operations & Customer service, Prakash an experienced IT Analyst, customer services representative and operation Analyst is focused on ensuring all visitors to the centre have a great experience.
Muhammad Asil Shahzad
ICT Lead Officer
Asil is the Technology Officer at the Ripple Centre, utilizing his background in IT and cybersecurity to enhance BDCVS’s technological initiatives. He is dedicated to creating a safe and secure digital environment while improving efficiency and accessibility. Through collaboration with staff and stakeholders, Asil identifies opportunities for innovation, aiming to set new standards in digital safety for the organization.
During the evening and the weekend, we have a team of dedicated caretakers, who are happy to help where they can.
